Frequently Asked Questions
Why Are You Different?
Virginia Addiction
Medicine is recognized as one of the leading providers of
outpatient based medication management services for addiction
related issues. Our affiliated
physicians SPECIALIZE in addiction recovery and have successfully
treated hundreds of clients both in an outpatient and inpatient
setting. VAM also offers ASAM (American Society of Addiction
Medicine) recommended supportive education and counseling
services including Suboxone Educational Programs and Substance
Abuse Assessments. Many insurance providers are beginning
to require these types of additional services as condition
for medication reimbursement.
What About Insurance?
Virginia Addiction Medicine accepts
payment in advance for all services. We do not file insurance
claims. We do however provide appropriate billing information
that assists the majority of our clients in receiving
reimbursement for a very large percentage of their costs. Different health
care plans vary in the coverage amount or percentage they
will reimburse for. Most of our clients have their
prescription costs covered.
How Are You Staffed?
VAM affiliated physicians and
psychiatrists are addiction specialists who work exclusively
with medications appropriate for clients challenged
with addiction related issues. In
addition, our staff includes Licensed Substance Abuse Counselors
and Forensics Substance Abuse Specialists who can assist our
clients beyond medication issues including appropriate referrals
for additional chemical dependency related services. Our staff can also assist our clients with any legal related issues.
Are You Discreet?
Many VAM clients choose to not
access their insurance benefits. In
addition to credit/debit cards, we also accept cash and personal
checks. Any credit/debit transactions will be identifed under our parent entity PMS, LLC. VAM offers low profile office locations and can schedule
our clients with convenient after work hours. We strictly
adhere to the highest standards of privacy and confidentiality.
We work well with professionals, executives, medical field
and legal personnel, and others who careers or positions
require discreet services.
